The pups will be three weeks old tomorrow, and they're as adorable as ever. They are becoming more alert and aware of their surroundings by the day. With snow a snow day on Monday due to 12 plus inches of snow and 40 mph hour winds, the kids had an extra long weekend to play with the pups. Most days are spent running back and forth from the garage to the house with a different puppy in hand! We're almost half way through our time with this litter of puppies which is kind of bitter sweet. We know that they've got great homes anxiously awaiting their arrivals, but this is the stage that they are so much fun to spend time with. Talk to us in about 3 weeks and maybe our minds will change, but right now we're definitely not ready for them to go home quite yet!
Rock Solid Pointing Labs began in 2004 when we purchased our first pointing lab. Back then we did not know how one dog could have such a powerful impact on our lives. Belle is solely responsible for our love and passion for hunting, for our love and passion for the outdoors, and our love and passion producing high end labradors. Our goal is to pass on this love and passion for generations to come. For more information contact: jjfranken@premieronline.net

You know you've got a good life when you have wrinkles on your forehead, and you just don't have a care in the world. The puppies have grown substantially in the last week, and although they are pretty inactive, this is such a fun stage. If you love fuzzy and cuddly, this is the best stage. We've enjoyed taking the pups in the house, and the kids love holding them every chance they get. There aren't too many moments that go by that they aren't asking to hold them, and to be honest there are plenty of moments when they sneak out in the garage and cuddle with the pups even without permission. Their eyes aren't quite open yet, but it will only be a couple of days before that happens. It seems like forever ago that we had puppies around (reality is its only been since September) but the consensus is that this NEVER GETS OLD!

Pups born January 4, 2018
Well, the long wait is finally over. Briar started her labor around 3:00 am on Thursday morning and was finished having pups around 11:00 am. It was a smooth labor and by the time she was finished there were 8 healthy puppies 3 females and 5 males. The first few days have gone by quickly and the pups have nearly doubled in size. On Sunday we clipped dew claws, and the kids were excited to help with that. They can't wait until they get bigger so they can snuggle and play with them without having to ask! Here are a few pictures from the first few days! It's always a relief when all the pups arrive safely, but we're excited for the next 6-7 weeks and spending our time with them!
