4 x GMPR Sired All Yellow Pointing Litter Expected Around January 4, 2018

4 GMPR sired all yellow litter expected around January 4, 2018.  This is a first time mating of two dogs that match up extremely well together!   If you're looking for that dog that has the perfect look, a ton of drive, and strong natural pointing ability this is the litter.  Both sire and dam have great personalities, are great family dogs, and have a pedigree that don't quit.  This breeding compiles 19 GMPR titles, 11 APLA titles, and 9 FC AFC Titles or better.  There are 8 APLA Hall of Fame dogs and a total of 45 titled dogs in the pedigree.  Some notables include GMPR MPR Rik's Risky Raider MH, GMPR Grits of Black Forest SH, 4xGMPR Kroeger's Snapping Gator MH, 4xGMPR Honest Abe SH, GMPR Zig Zags Jipsey's Black Magic MH, CPR Minn Horse and Hunt Club Thor, and GMPR Wannamakers Hot Tubb SH.  This pedigree combines a perfect mix of pointing bloodlines, and legendary field trial pedigrees!  Both Abe and Briar come with all the health clearances, and are hip certified and eyes normal. Pups will come with a 28 month health guarantee.

Briar
Briar is that all around great family gun dog that everyone is looking for!  She is the type of dog you can spend all day with in the yard, take for a walk, use to keep the kids entertained, but yet has a passion for upland hunting like no one else!   Briar is a 60 pound female that is built for strength, athleticism, and endurance!  Not to mention she possesses that same great look we've been seeking to reproduce for the past 10 years!   She is a dog that can cover a lot of ground in a hurry, but never gets too rangy and constantly has her nose to the ground. At only 3 years old, many people often ask to hunt their pups alongside her because she hunts like a dog whose been doing it for 10 years.  She uses her nose to pinpoint birds in the thickest of cover, and when the conditions are right she displays a strong and steady natural point.   Her greatest attribute would be her ability to mark and find cripples.  There have been very few crippled birds that have outsmarted over the years, and her determination is seldomly matched. Briar is the perfect all around gun dog and I'm impressed at how many things she does so well!

Abe
Abe is an 4xGMPR, SH titled male comes to us by way of High Caliber Labs in South Dakota. High Caliber is a very well renowned kennel throughout the U.S. just south of Sioux Falls in the heart of Pheasant Country. Their reputation speaks for itself producing many titled dogs over the past several years.   Abe is yellow stud with all the natural point you could ask for.  He has a desire to hunt that is seldom seen, and amazing retrieving ability.  He is a 70 pound male with all the looks and a ton of muscle, and is SOLID! You won’t find a better looking yellow lab!  Abe’s pedigree includes:  GMPR HR Joemac’s Cause for Concern,GMPR MHR Rik’s Risky Raider MH (HOF) 2001 US Open Champ, GMPR Cashzingers Cattail Corky (APLA Hall of Fame),  GMPR Gumbo of Black Forest (HOF) MH, and FC AFC Field Trial legends!  Abe's point is rock solid, he hunts as hard as any dog out there, and is a great team player!   This pedigree is loaded with some of the most sought after pointing lines in the country.   He has hunted extensively in the upland and on waterfowl, and he lives to hunt and will go strong all day long! Abe is professional guide dog in South Dakota, and sees more pheasants in one week than most dogs see all year!

Litter Announcement

All yellow pointing litter born August 20, 2017. 6 females and 3 males.  This is a repeat breeding that produced exactly what we were looking for in a pointing lab the first time.  This litter will provide all the drive, looks, natural instinct, and athleticism you're looking for.  My last year's started dog "Gunner" is out of this same breeding and he did not disappoint!  I have been around a lot of great dogs in my life, but his demeanor, temperament, drive, and point top the list.  Click on link to see more about him:  http://rocksolidpointinglabs.blogspot.com/p/started-dogs.html

Rylee is an all around great female that matches up perfectly with Eli.  She is a 60 pound female an athletic build that can go strong all day.  She possesses a strong will to please and that drive everyone is looking for but knows when to turn it off.   She is out of one of my last Belle breedings and her pedigree is loaded and includes dogs like 4xGMPR Cashman's Groovy Little Trooper MH, GMPR Duke's True Grit SH, GMPR Grits of Black Forest SH, GMPR MHR Rik's Risky Raider, and many more.  She has all the right look, and passes on that same great look, temperament and drive into her offspring.

Eli is an APR titled male out of 4xGMPR parents.  You won't find too many males that have his look and pedigree all rolled into one package.  He is 78 pound male that is a lean, mean hunting machine. He is the type of dog that can cover a lot of ground, and make his way through the toughest of cover. He'll go strong all day long, and is the type of dog that knows how to shut it down at the end of the day. His pedigree includes notables such as 4XGMPR MHR Baier's Lady Legacy of Tru Point MH,  4X GMPR HR Sams Creek High Priest of Israel SH, GMPR Sauk River's Featherstorm MH, GMPR Sir Hershey of Surrey, GMPR MHR Rik's Risky Raider MH, and many more.

Both Eli and Rylee come with all the health clearances and the pups will come with a 28 month health guarantee on hips, elbows, and eyes.

6 Weeks

It's hard to believe 6 weeks has gone by so quickly.  This rambunctious little group starts heading home this week already, and its safe to say that this litter will be missed!  They are full of energy, intuitive, and extremely playful.  Not a minute goes by where we're not counting heads to make sure they're all accounted for and double checking to make sure they are dragging something they shouldn't out in the yard.  Even though they are a lively bunch, they did cooperate pretty well for pictures tonight.  After all these years we're starting to figure out what works when taking pictures of 6 week old puppies! Hey it only took about 11 years!

Finally the names....

A couple nights ago we finally got a chance to sit down and pick names.  Some of them have meaning behind them, others of them are what the kids picked, but now at least you can put a face with the name.  It started to rain toward the end so a few of the pics are just ok, and not to mention some of them don't have a lot of sit at this stage in the game.  I guess that's what makes it fun and interesting all at the same time.  As a family we all decided it would be fun to name our own pups. Seeings how the youngest members of the family always choose their favorites we thought we'd all get in on the action and claim one as our own.  With the recent wedding our family is now 8 strong, plus a significant other which makes 9.   However KK assures us that she can have 2 pups we worked together to come up with the last name.  Here is the list of family members and the names/pups they chose.

4 weeks old!

4 weeks old and so many exciting things happening in their little lives so far.  The weather has been outstanding, so the time outside has been great.  For only being 4 weeks old, I don't know if I've ever had a litter as active as they are already!   This weekend started out with them celebrating their first wedding on Friday. My oldest son Austin, who "technically" owns Maggie married his high school sweetheart so having the puppies a part of the festivities seemed like a good idea!  I say technically because, in a few weeks when they move to their new house, I'm going to have a tough time letting Mags move in with them!  She has become such a big part of my life. From the morning runs, to the endless hunting trips, and everywhere in between Mags has been a part of my daily routine for 2.5 years now.  Fortunately they are only moving a couple minutes away!   Along with the wedding festivities the pups also started eating wet food this weekend.  In only a days time they've figured out that when they hear the pans start to make noise that the food is coming, and most certainly let me know that they are hungry.   Below are a few pics I was able to capture from the wedding shoot, but there will be more to come later.  I can't wait to see what the professional photographer has to show!  You can see that the pups played pretty hard this weekend.  When they all find a place to snuggle up in the green grass for a nap, you know it's been a great day!

The puppies got their first taste of the great outdoors yesterday.  For a brief moment they explored their new surroundings, but it didn't take long to fall fast asleep in a heap of puppies.  They continue to grow, and change daily and it won't be long before they are running around and playing more than they sleep. The kids are starting to pick their puppy and we're starting to sort through the names!  That's always one of the things we enjoy the most.  They are all so similar in color, and other than a little variation is size they are pretty tough to tell apart!  I think this is going to be a challenging litter in that respect, but as they continue to get older hopefully more of those subtle differences start to come out.
