HPK's WhistlePig Straight Rye Manhattan MH x Rock Solid's Guns and Roses Black and Chocolate Litter Expected February 15, 2024

Black and chocolate litter expected around February 15, 2024.  This is a first-time mating of two dogs that match up extremely well together!   It’s a very similar breeding to our Woodrow x Rosie breeding from the past.  Declan is a son of Woodrow and a litter we’ve had tremendous success with previously.  If you're looking for that dog that has a great look, a ton of drive, strong natural pointing ability, and can compete at any level this is the litter.  Both the sire and the dam have great personalities and are great family dogs with a pedigree that doesn’t quit.    Pups come with all the health clearances and a 28-month health guarantee.

Rosie is a 70-pound female out of exceptional bloodlines.  She's the perfect mix of field trial and pointing lines. She has that perfect black coat, confirmation, and all the athleticism to go with the looks. People comment on her looks everywhere we go.   Her pedigree includes:  4xGMPR The Cptn's Sierra Shadow Ale QAA MH, 4xGMPR Cashman’s Super Trooper MH, GMPR Duke’s True Grit SH, GMPR Pathfinder’s Jayhawk Roxy, GMPR Grits of Black Forest SH APLA Hall of Fame,  GMPR MHR Rik’s Risky Raider MH (HOF) 2001 US Open Champ, FC Nan-Dool Elwood Blues,3xGRHRCH UH Dakota’s Cajun Roux MH, HRCH Highpoint’s Tiger’s Tearin Em Up MH, 13xGRHRCH Missy’s Cajun Dakota MH UKC Hall of Fame, and NFC AFC Storm’s  Riptide Star just to name a few. Rosie has spent a ton of time in the upland field in her first two hunting seasons.  It doesn't matter if we're hunting in Iowa or South Dakota, she's always ready to go.   She's got a great natural point, phenomenal nose, and a big motor. She's the type of dog that can cover a ton of ground in a short period of time.  If I had to pinpoint her best attribute it would have to be her nose. She has a keen sense of smell, and always has her nose to the ground.   Outside of hunting she is the type of dog you can take with you anywhere.  She loves going for rides in the truck especially to the farm and can usually be seen getting a better view sitting on top of the toolbox.  Rosie spends most of her time outside of hunting in the house letting my 2.5 year old and 8 month old grandsons crawl all over her and love on her! She loves to please and loves to be loved.  Rosie knows how to settle in after a hard day’s work.  Rosie is EIC/CNM clear and comes with all the health clearances.

Pedigree of Litter (Click Link):  https://www.huntinglabpedigree.com/puppy.asp?id=43456

Lilly is a 55-60 pound female out of my very last "Belle" litter.  She is an athletic freak of nature, and possesses that same look Belle had.  I knew with Belle's last litter I wanted something as similar to those traits Belle possessed and she has "it"!  She has the same gorgeous look, same athleticism, and the same hard-nosed attitude in the field.  What I love most about Lilly is she will go hard all day long, but can shut it down and be a part of the family when the hunt is over!  Lilly's pedigree is also quite impressive. Some notables include:  GMPR MHR Rik's Risky Raider MH, GMPR Grits of Black Forest SH, GMPR, High Sierra Kodi MH, GMPR Blackwater Lexus, GMPR Wannamakers Hot Tubb SH, and Minn Horse and Hunt Club Thor MH to name a few.  These are some of the top bloodlines in the pointing and hunt test world!  Lilly is a multi-dimensional dog who gives me whatever I need whenever I want it!   She can sit out on the water or in the field all day and retrieve ducks,  she can bust through the thickest of pheasant cover day in and day out, or she can settle in by my feet at the end of a long day.  I just love how diverse she is!  She gives me everything I need in one dog.  She can hunt waterfowl, pheasant, and sheds with the best of them!  Lilly has a BIG BIG motor, but she has an even BIGGER heart!   She lives to please, and is type of dog that gives dogs the reputation of "man's best friend".  She loves to go wherever I go whether that's bird hunting for the day, hiking through the woods looking for deer sheds, or hopping in the backseat to run some errands!  Lilly has an overall great nose, strong marking ability, desire to retrieve, and absolutely loves water!   She is the type of dog that is always eager to learn, eager to work, and eager to please! She spends a ton of time in the field every year hunting upland in the Dakotas and Iowa, and water-fowling the "Flyway Highway".

GMPR Cruz x Maggie Breeding Born August 7, 2021

Maggie meets Cruz breeding born August 7, 2021.  Cruz is a GMPR SH titled male that comes to us by way of Northstar Pointing Labs in Minnesota. Cruz is GMPR Duke’s True Grit son whose lineage goes back to Blackforest bloodlines out of Colorado.  Blackforest (Currently Known and Bearpoint) bloodlines is one of the most prominent bloodlines in the history of pointing labs, and was an integral part of bringing notoriety to the pointing lab back in the mid-90’s.  Simply put, in the pointing world Grits of Black Forest is a legend!  The accomplishments of dogs from this pedigree are too many too list but there are many GMPR, MH, MHR and National Champions on both sides of this breeding! Cruz is a 65-70 pound powerhouse that has that same great look Grits of Black Forest possessed.  His pups possess a strong desire to hunt and have strong natural point. He has hunted extensively on waterfowl and upland, and he lives to hunt and will go strong all day long!  To say that I’m excited about bringing the Blackforest lineage back closer in our line is an understatement.  There aren’t too many opportunities to bring a bloodline like this back, and Mags matches up perfectly with Cruz! Mags and Cruz come with all the health clearances.  Mags is excellent on hips and Cruz is good. Both are clear on eyes, and normal on elbows. Pups will be EIC/CNM clear by parentage and will come with a 28 month health guarantee.

Mags is 55 pound female out of Remi and Punch.  This has been a breeding that has proven itself time and time again over the years, and I couldn't resist keeping a female out of that pairing. When you think of that dog that has all that drive you want, Mags has it! She is one of the few dogs I know that can match Belle's drive at such a young age!  In her first hunting season (8 months old) she would match all my seasoned dogs step for step in the field, and at times lead the way!  She is hands down one of the fastest and most athletic dogs I have ever been around!  She is a stunning lighter colored female with darker highlights around the eyes, nose, and ears.  I absolutely love her look!  Her pedigree includes:  GMPR MHR Rik's Risky Raider MH,  GMPR Grits of Black Forest SH, GMPR Spioncop Christos Magic Baker SH, GMPR High Sierra Kodiac MH, GMPR PDB Angel's Blackjack Kati, FC AFC Black Gold's Markin Marti, and many more!  She is a great mix of pointing and field trial lines!  Mags is an extremely versatile dog that possesses a great nose, strong natural pointing instinct, and exceptional marking ability.  If I had to pick one trait that sticks out with Maggie it would be her drive!  She is always 3 steps ahead of the competition!   She is an exceptional marker, and has an uncanny knack to see where everything lands and once she does she turns on the burners and no one is going to beat her there!   It's not too often you find a dog that has so much drive, but yet is still a great family dog.  Most days you can find Mags

hanging out in the back yard with my kids.  My 4 year old daughter will constantly walk her around on and off the leash. Her favorite thing to do is make Mags lie down, lay in the grass next to her and rub her belly!   Maggie definitely has that same "lover mentality" her momma has, and is always looking for attention.  Mags has spent a majority of her time in the upland fields of Iowa and South Dakota. She also has experience as a waterfowl dog and is great in the water.  In the springtime she spends time hiking with me through the woods looking for shed antlers.  She is that dog that you love to have around in every season because she is so versatile, but even more importantly she loves to please no matter what she's doing!

Cruz is a 65-70 pound male that possesses those same great traits that Grits had!  Some noteables in his pedigree include:  GMPR Duke's True Grit SH, GMPR Grits of Black Forest SH (APLA Hall of Fame), CPR Horse and Hunt Club Thor (APLA Hall of Fame), GMPR Gumbo of Black Forest (APLA Hall of Fame), GMPR Killarney Kate, GMPR Smoking Annie Oakley, GMPR Sir Hershey of Surrey (APLA Hall of Fame), and many more!!! His drive and pedigree are unmatched.  Cruz is a stud that has the "IT" and "WOW" factor.  He is a dog with endless drive and stamina. As a retriever he has all the tools to do anything you want him to. Cruz trains as hard as he hunts and tests. He has a no quit desire to please you that is very special. In the upland he has great search and cover skills that lead to a very solid staunch stylish point. He is used extensively as a guide dog in SD and he rises to every challenge put in front of him. If you are looking to add another gear to your next litter take a hard look at Cruz! Cruz possesses many of those same characteristics listed about Grits, and it’s truly an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to pair Maggie with him!  These two should match up to produce that “once in a lifetime” companion gundog that everyone is looking for!
