Another nice day allowed us to let the pups run for a long time. I know this week the weather looks like its going to be cold and rainy so I took advantage of today. The puppies (and kids) were having fun outside with the beautiful weather today. They were really exploring different things and venturing out. They followed the kids all over the yard, and when I put them back inside they whined b/c they wanted to go back outside.

Finally, we had some decent weather today, and Gracyn and I let the puppies run. At first they just wanted to lay around, but then Gracyn got a pheasant feather out and had them chase her around. It was fun to see b/c as soon as she started waving it around and dragging it on the ground their noses immediately went to the ground and tails began to wag. They soon forgot about being in unfamiliar surroundings and their natural instincts kicked in. We're supposed to have a pretty nice weekend so the plan is to get them plenty of fresh air while the weather cooperates.

Madison (13), Kinley (1), Gracyn (4), Boden (2) |
My wife's exact words, "I have enough pee in the house to clean up with Boden already!" They are growing and I started them on wet food at the end of the week. They love that!! Every time I go in the kennel now they all perk up and start crying for food. They are just over 2 weeks old, and have had 2 rounds of dewormer. This coming week they'll get their firs round of shots.

Pups are growing and doing well as you can see. They seem to get visitors every day, they are definitely some of the more popular attractions at my house. I thought my nieces loved to come and see me, but when they pull up to the house and run straight to the back yard I know better! I had them outside for a while today while I cleaned out the whelping box. Usually the first time out there isn't a whole lot of action. They just sit there and whine wanting to go back in the shed where it's warm and their surroundings are more familiar. I would guess by the end of this week they'll be starting to explore more when I let them out. It's kind of crazy to think that they are about half way to going home already. I would assume in 3 1/2 weeks people will be starting to come and pick them up. I put them on wood chips today. They are starting to pee a lot and switching carpet out every other day makes for a lot of work.

Puppies Eyes Open
The puppies eyes are open finally. They are really starting to walk around and sit up. Sorry it's been a while since I've updated the site. I was gone all weekend duck hunting in South Dakota with my brother. Tonight they had their first round of dewormer. I'll keep you posted this next week with how everything is going.
