Rock Solid Pointing Labs began in 2004 when we purchased our first pointing lab. Back then we did not know how one dog could have such a powerful impact on our lives. Belle is solely responsible for our love and passion for hunting, for our love and passion for the outdoors, and our love and passion producing high end labradors. Our goal is to pass on this love and passion for generations to come. For more information contact: jjfranken@premieronline.net

5 Weeks Today
I can't believe they are 5 weeks old today! It is amazing to think that 5 weeks ago we could hold them in the palm of our hands and now they are running, pouncing, eating solid food, barking, and chewing on my shoe laces all the live long day! In just a couple short weeks they will be chewing on your shoe laces and giving you those irristable puppy eyes. I can't wait for you to meet them. Our home is located on the edge of town and we have a walking trail that curves through the back of our property. This morning, a lady was walking past when I was letting the puppies run. She stopped by to inquire about the puppies and it didn't take long before she was smitten. I can't wait until you get to expirence the same feeling when you finally meet your little boy or girl!
The puppies also had their well-puppy check at the vet. I had a couple sets of helpful hands along on the visit!
Sunday they spend almost the entire day running outside. It was a beautiful day for them to starting learning how to discover and play.
After an entire day of running in the yard, playing in boxes and with toys, and being held by many kids they were ready for a nap!

Four Weeks
The puppies celebrated their 4th week of life by getting a taste of "real" food. For the past four weeks Hazel has been doing an amazing job and feeding and caring for her babies, now starts the weaning process to get them ready to join their forever families. This time is always a little bittersweet for me. It is a reminder that our job of loving on these puppies is going to come to an end in the next few weeks. However, watching them discover and absolutely LOVE their (soggy) puppy food was priceless. For the most part, they all dove right it. The best is seeing their big, round bellies when they are done!
"All done! I'm off to play!"
"Oh, I am SO full, and so content!"
"There is always room for a little milk to top of our breakfast"

Cuter by the Day
Every morning I go out to the shed and open the door and see their little noses peeking over the top of the whelping box and think, "I don't think they can get any cuter." However, I think that they get cuter every day! Thier personality are starting to really show and they are getting so playful! Here are a few pictures from their adventures outdoors...thier favorite place to be.

One Year Later
I opened my computer today and saw this fun update from a family who bought one of Hazel's puppies from her fall of 2014 litter. What a differance a year makes!
"Hank has taken to hunting here in northern Michigan! Hank has shown a strong point and a natural abiblity to retrieve. It's been a blast hunting with him. Hank is so proud and so are we!"~ Lauren

Hard to believe he looked like this exactly one year ago, and now he is out hunting in Northern Michigan!
Three Weeks
The puppies are three weeks old today! It was a beautiful day here in NW Iowa, so we thought it would be a perfect day for the puppies to take take their first trip outside. The kids had so much fun letting them explore. They didn't go too far, and were pretty content just laying in the grass. They were out for about 45 minutes and when we put them back in the whelping box, they fell right to sleep and slept the rest of the afternoon/evening...exploring the outdoors is hard work!

We've Got Eyes
Although a little hazy yet, their eyes are open! We also heard our first real growl, that almost turned into a bark. Tommy (black male) is very strong and is pretty much walking everywhere he goes. They are all growing so nicely and are visibly getting bigger each day. They are still pretty sleepy, but I was able to snap a few pictures so you can get a peek at thier sweet little eyes.
We laughed about this next picture. "Ivy" has the same problem Miah has...Miah always closes her right eye when taking pictures!
Willow and her "Tommy" boy. This girl loves this dog!
Last night the girls took the puppies in the house again for a couple hours.
Romee claimed her puppy was "fussy" and needed to be calmed down with a walk. He seemed pretty content before his walk, but it sure was fun for her!
