The weather has been great these last few days, and the pups have been spending plenty of time outdoors. We enjoy letting them out and the kids enjoy being chased around (most of the time) They are starting to show lots of personality and get into lots of mischief. Just have to remember not to wear flip-flops b/c they love to chew on toes. They have had plenty of visitors. Andy drove 11 hours from Williston, ND to see them this weekend. He just wanted to see his future pup, and get an idea of which one he likes. In a couple weeks, he will make the journey down to take his male home. Along with all the excitement, a few of the pups got to go to school yesterday for show and tell. My niece, Laney, loves to come and see the pups. She thought it would be a fun idea to take the to school and show them off. This seems like an annual tradition where the kids take them to school. My 3 year old, Gracyn, was asking if she could take them to school next year when she's big enough for school. I had to explain to her it wouldn't be these puppies b/c they already be living in their new homes. Try explaining that to a 3 year old. I have a feeling she is going to be pretty sad in a couple weeks when the start going home!!!! It's hard to imagine they will be 6 weeks old tomorrow. In about a week some will start going home.

First Day Out (Last week Monday)
Sorry these are from last week Monday already. It's been a crazy spring with snowstorms in the end of April. The weather finally shaped up enough to let the pups run for a while. Usually that first time out they whine and whimper b/c of the uncertainty of the new surroundings. They loved every minute of it and were running all over the yard.

The puppies are getting more rambunctious by the day. As you can see from the pictures my little guy Bo enjoys them, but he does like to torment them a little. I have a feeling in a week or so the tides will turn, and he will be the tormented. They are already starting to grab at his pants! They sure do enjoy going out and playing with them. I just wish the weather would warm up so that we could play with them out in the yard. Last week, we had a major ice/snow storm so it hasn't been the typical April weather that's for sure. A lot of trees went down, and a lot of people were without power. Fortunately we only went without for about a half hour! They are enjoying their wet food, and everytime I go in there they perk up, and start whining because they think they are getting the good stuff. The fat little guy three pics below even found out a way to keep his siblings away from his food stash! Lay down in the bowl so that no one else can eat. Right now it works well to use old frisbees because they aren't so deep and they can get to the food easier! Other than that all is well. I'll be giving them their first round of shots by the end of the week.

Something wrong with these pictures???
Ok, nothing seriously wrong with the pictures, but that isn't Mom, its Grandma! I went in tonight to check on the pups before bed, thought I'd let Belle in with the Remi and the puppies for a while and when I went back to check she was snuggled in so nice with them. Remi was outside of the whelping box enjoying the break. She's getting sick of the teeth and the claws. It just reminds me of what a great mother Belle is and how gentle natured she truly is! The pups would crawl on her and she just layed there like nothing was happening. I love my dogs, but I'll probably never have another Belle!! She's that once in a lifetime dog that doesn't have a fault. I also changed from carpert to wood chips tonight. Too much of a mess to clean up anymore! This makes life a lot easier. I'll probably start them on some soft food in the next day or so. The puppies are doing well, and growing as you can see. They are all walking around wide eyed, and they are even starting to bark and growl. Its pretty fun to see them progress. A couple of them whined when I went in until I picked them up! Just wanted a little love I guess. In only a month they'll be starting to go home. The time really does fly by!

Eyes Open
Today the puppies eyes are starting to open. Some are open and others aren't quite open yet. They are also starting to wobble around on all fours as you can see from the pictures. They are doing really well, and growing great! As you can see from the bottom picture my goofy little Gracyn absolutely loves to hold the puppies! In a couple more weeks she'll be chasing them around the yard, and a week or two after that they'll most likely be chasing her. It seems like once it gets to that stage they aren't quite as fun for her! She's about the perfect size for the puppies to chew on her cloths, attack, and do whatever else they can do to get even with her for all the times she bothered them when they were sleeping so peacefully!
